Hebrews 8:1-13

(Hebrews 8:1-13)

Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;  A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.  For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.  For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:  Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.  But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.  For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.  For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.  For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:  And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.  For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.  In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

Chapter 8 continues to apologize for Christ's supremacy to remain firm in faith despite persecution and temptation, toward Christians who are faced with the temptation to return. After completing the redemptive ministry on earth, Jesus Christ ascended and completed the work of the new high priest at the right hand of God. Hebrews declares that Jesus Christ is the mediator of a better covenant made with a better promise compared to the old covenant.

Jesus is the Mediator of the New Covenant, Christ serving in the heavenly sanctuary. The faith of the saints in Jesus Christ is no longer through the shadows of the Old Testament people. None of the high priests of the Aaronic line had the capacity or power to take on this role Jesus played. Jesus is not a high priest in the heavenly sanctuary to enjoy dignity and authority, but serving as a mediator for the saints.

Jesus Christ is the mediator of a better covenant, established by a better promise. That is why the saints depend on Him, but do not go back, but stand firm. Knowing this, the Saints too can walk away from all the sins and darkness that hinder their spiritual journey and destroy their lives. This is because the Saints have mediators.

As an intercessor, Jesus sits at the right hand of the throne of God. Jesus made everyone believe it through the cross. But Jesus did not show resurrection and ascension to anyone. From the beginning to the end, only the Saints who followed Jesus were together as witnesses of the Lord. He also poured out the Holy Spirit on them. Resurrection is the same life as entering the sanctuary, but ascension becomes the life entering the sanctuary.

According to the book of Revelation, it is said that the Lamb is standing at the right hand of the throne. In the Gospel of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, the word lamb does not appear, but in the Gospel of John, the expression lamb appears. Jesus is the sacrifice that came to die. Jesus became a sacrifice and died on the cross, resurrected after the first advent, and ascended after 40 days. The Holy Spirit came on the day of Pentecost, and now Jesus said He would return as He ascended from the Mount of Olives.

Abraham fought a war to save the captured Lot. Lot is Abraham's nephew to the flesh, but spiritually he is Abraham's brother. In Genesis 14:14 And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.(kjv) Abraham for Lot, As an intercessor, God prayed for Lot to be saved.

This war is truly an incredible war in the mind of the flesh. Three hundred and eighty ones who were trained at home participated in the war. That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar. These four kings were defeated by five kings, including Elam, and Lot was captured. However, it is said that only 318 people won the war and saved Lot. And on the way back to Abraham, he met Melchizedek, the beginning and the endless king of Salem. Melchizedek gave bread and wine to Abram. It is the grace of God to those who win spiritual warfare today.

Before Jesus Christ died, he appeared as a priest, saying, "This is the new covenant that I build with my blood." The expression new covenant is used only in Jeremiah. It is a better covenant. It is a better covenant between the sinner and God. The covenant established through Moses became an old covenant.

The Bible emphasizes that the new covenant is better than the old covenant, and confronts Jesus, the mediator of the new covenant, with Moses, who was at the center of the old covenant. The Bible reveals that the new covenant, which Christ became the intercession, is far superior to the old covenant that Moses became the intercession. In the old covenant, everyone recognized himself as a sinner. On the contrary, in the new covenant, people repented, and with Jesus Christ, the old man became dead on the cross, becoming a real free man. The Saints were freed from sin through Jesus and participated in the promise of God's grace. Moses, the Old Testament mediator, showed that man is under sin, but Christ, the New Testament mediator, opened the way for the Saints to escape sin and come to God.

In Hebrews 7:28, "For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore. . The words of oath in Deuteronomy are linked to the new covenant. The covenant of Jeremiah 31, quoted in Hebrews 8:8, is also a new covenant: For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel. and with the house of Judah:

The new covenant was translated as a new covernant in the English Bible. In the New Testament, about 20 translations of covernant appeared, and 13 were translated into testament. Hebrew and Greek are the same covenant. We read as old testament, new testament. The important thing, whether it is a covernant or a testament, is the covenant. The covenant has the meaning of inheritance in Hebrews 9:18. Even if a person writes a will in advance, it will take effect after the person dies. The new covenant comes into effect after Jesus dies on the cross.

And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.(Hebrews 9:15)

For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator(kjv)(9:16) In Hebrews 9:4, Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant
Before Jesus died, became a covernant, and after death he became a testament. The covernant or testament in English (kjv) is the same word in Greek.

In Hebrews 8:9, Before Jesus died, became a covernant, and after death he became a testament. The covernant or testament in English (kjv) is the same word in Greek
This covenant is not a covenant made on Mount Pentecost, but a covenant made in the land of Egypt. The covenant made in the land of Egypt is that of the Lamb. It is said that "Paint the blood and you will pass over." The word "pass over" in Hebrew is phesi (
פסח), and the word "h" later becomes silent, and Pesa becomes pasa and passes in English. The English pass is from Hebrew.

To paint the blood of the Lamb means to overcome sin. Speaking of today, the saints were led to the church, and in the wilderness they must repent. Although the saint was led to the church, he cannot repent unless he realizes that he is bound from sin. Even if they confess that they are sinners and think that they have been forgiven, they are not exodus unless they repent. In the wilderness, the Jews exodusd their bodies, but their heart wanted to return to Egypt. In the wilderness they had to repent. The repentant will participate in the death of Jesus Christ. That is why we are born again who are chosen. Many church people today do not know that they are associated with Christ who died on the cross. This life is a repentant life of self-denial. The life of a self-denying woman becomes a life of being released from sin. Otherwise, they did not enter the new covenant.

The new covenant is different from the old covenant. Jeremiah said, "Israel will be taken to Babylon," and again, "Come back from Babylon." This is the new covenant. It is said in the Bible that when they were taken from Babylon and returned, they were released rather than forgiven. The prisoner was released. Prisoners are prisoners of sin. In the Lord's Prayer, there is an expression "Please don't take me to the test." Words like the word test appear several times in the wilderness. However, from Canaan, it appears with the words "I was released." Daniel prophesied that the people would be "released after 70 years."

In Hebrews 8:10For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

The new covenant is not forgiveness of sins, but death of sins. In Egypt, sin passed, but not in the wilderness. In the wilderness, sinners must repent to gain faith in Canaan. In order to be freed from sin, one must die for sin. This is repentance. If we do not die on the cross with Jesus, we cannot be released from sin. Eating the bread that Jesus gives and holding the cup is associated with Jesus' death. This becomes the new covenant.
